Shop N Save No Coupon Thursday

Here's my transaction from Shop N Save this morning.  

I only used two coupons.  $5 entertainment coupon and $1 off 4 Yo Crunch.

This is a good way to buy things you normally do not have coupons for such as produce or meat.  

They had Double G ham for $2.59 lb.  I buy a whole ham and slice it myself instead of buying at the deli counter for $6 lb and upwards.

Beef patties were on sale for $4.

Kettle cooked chips $2.50.. not a great deal but they are the kid's favorite.  

Paid $5.70 OOP because I had a $40 gift card.

If you drink Three Olives Vodka this is the deal for you.  Shop N Save has all varieties on sale for $13.99.  Then there is a mail in rebate for up to $30 wyb 4.

Shop N Save Trip 8/30

Here's how my Shop N Save Trip went this morning.  

I went in 2 times.  I did the Kraft deal ($5 off instantly wyb 10 items AND $10 catalina coupon printed at checkout) and the GM deal ($5 off instantly wyb 10 items).  

Kraft deal

I bought 4 shredded Kraft cheese

2 Kraft slices

2 Planters peanuts

2 Shells and Cheese

GM's deal

10 Tostino's pizzas

Here's where I messed up.... Yes, you read correctly.  I messed up because I forgot that they auto deduct the 2 $5 discounts before they total.  I should have spent $60 instead of $50 in order to get my instant $10 no coupon Thursday deal.  Oh well, I am NOT a morning person and I had to go extra early this morning or else I couldn't go at all.  Live and learn.  I spent $35 in my first transaction and got the $10 Kraft catalina.

Second transaction

I did the GM deal again.  This time I bought:

3 boxes of cereal

3 Hamburger Helper (yes we do like this once in a great while)

4 Old El Paso taco seasoning

Save an instant $5

Then I loaded up with other misc items that I usually do not have coupons for such as veggies and stevia.  1 pound of ham, burger patties, 5 nutella, sour cream, beef sticks, potatoes, ding dongs, cupcakes, buns and gum.   

Paid $28 after my coupons and $10 Kraft catalina coupon from my first transaction.  

Total out of pocket was approximately $64.  How did you do today?

This Thursday is No Coupon Thursday.  What a great day to stock up on all your Memorial Day Weekend essentials!   But BEWARE!!  I'm sure everyone will be doing the same!   Bring your patience with your coupon binder. ;)

I am pleased to see this again this week.  I did not go last week being as it was the last Thursday before Easter and I knew they would be packed!  I don't see as many good deals as last week though :(   It may be a good time to stock up on items you don't usually have coupons for.

New Shop N Save App

Go here to find out about Shop N Save's new app.  It looks like you will be able to get the latest ads and be able to make your list on the app.  I was hoping for coupons but maybe that will come.

I didn't actually use alot of coupons today.  Highly unusual for me but Shop N Save had some good deals along with a coupon for $4 off $15 in Heinz products hence the Ore Ida potatoes/ fries.

12 Tostinos pizzas  used 4 $1/4 coupons   Plus when you buy 10 participating items it automatically takes $5 off at register.

Also received a $1 off next order catalina from Ore Ida.
AND... the tostinos have codes for free Redbox rentals...  so up to 12 free movies.  That's worth at least $15.

The kid has spring break next week and he can bake these Tostino's pizzas like a pro.  :) He also loves ice cream...  upon further thought.. I think I did  have a coupon for these...   Dang it.
So even without a lot of coupons or work you can save a lot of money at Shop N Save with no coupon Thursday.

Spent $33 OOP for $80 worth of groceries.   I spent about 10 minutes last night getting a list together and collecting coupons.   No extreme couponing here.   Just everyday savings.
The way to succeed at this game is to buy when it's rock bottom prices.  I do not need 80% of these items.  I buy what is rock bottom prices that my family WILL use.   Cookies are not normally on my list but for under $1 a box we will try them.  Milo's Kitchen treats were another "splurge" for $1.50 but it's my dog's bday today:)
A couple things I bought without coupons were the block of mozzarella,  hashbrowns, pam spray, peanut butter, chili, and the Imo's dressing.  Most of these were on sale or else I needed them for recipes this week.  The peanut butter was part of a buy 10 get $2 off deal so even without coupons it was an okay deal.  My kids go through PB so I'm always looking for it.  The candy was clearance and I hadn't gotten the kids any for V Day.
The Imo's dressing was a big splurge at $3.68 but man it's going to be good on the edge of my pizza later this week.  Don't worry... I'll post.
So for all the naysayers out there that say they simply do not have time to coupon........  look at it this way.  10 minutes of preparation saved me $47.   Multipy that by 6 (for how many 10 minutes in an hour).  That is $282 an hour.  Do you make that much at your job??   

Shop N Save $10 off Thursday!!

So one of the ways I save A LOT of money is going to Shop N Save on no coupon Thursday.  You save $10 off your $50 purchase without any coupons.   Then you can also use the $5 off $50 in the Entertainment book. You can also use coupons on your items.   I go through with my calculator and check out when I hit $50 before coupons.   Then if you need more go back in again.   It's an easy way to save 20% off your grocery bill without a single coupon.
