Today through Tuesday the 26th Schnucks and Dierbergs are tripling coupons up to $.75 with a limit of 15 coupons. 
Top picture Schnucks. Spent $9.90.  Saved $22.96.
Bottom picture Dierbergs.  Spent $16.43.  No coupon for the potatoes.  I needed those for a quick weekday meal.

Wednesday Wows... free sausage again!!

A month or so back Schnuck's Wednesday Wows included a $2 off sausage which made their store brand sausage practically free.   IT'S BACK!
Go to Schnucks' Facebook Page to print this coupon.   You must print your coupon before 8 am tomorrow but they are good until Sunday 12/9.

Update:  I went to Schnucks this morning and yes it makes sausage virtually free!   I paid 3 cents for a pound of sausage.

Schnucks super coupons

Here's what I got today.  I did 3 trips.   Paid approximately $28.  I haven't done an exact count yet because today has been crazy.
Durkee seasonings and vanilla extract are free along with Hormel completes meals and S&W beans and Stove top dressings. 
These deals will only work today.  Schnucks is doubling coupons up to a dollar!   Maximum of 15 coupons doubled and only 3 of the same coupons per trip.

I wanted to highlight the Dawn deal.  Regular price $1.59.  Use the $.50 coupon from 10-14PG.  Pay $.09 each.  This deal is also the same price at Dierbergs.
All varieties of Farmland bacon are on sale for $2.69.   There is a coupon for $.75 coupon for the Lower sodium, less fat.

The stores are only tripling up to 15 coupons so plan accordingly.  Schnucks is also only accepting 3 like coupons in one transaction.  I ended up paying full price for one of my Cascades this morning because I had 4.  I was unaware of the limit to 3.

FREE Sausage at Schnucks (or almost free...)

Did you print your Wednesday Wows??  There was a $2 coupon for Schnucks sausage that I told you about yesterday.
I stopped by Schnucks this morning and totally scored on sausage.   Italian sausage is $1.99 a lb.  With my $2 coupon I paid a penny for my sausage. 

Unfortunately, you can only print your Wednesday Wows on Wednesday but they are good until the following Sunday.  Wows can be found on Schunck's Facebook page every Wednesday.

Schnucks Wednesday WOWs... chicken deal!

Woohoo...  There's a great coupon today on the Wednesday WOWS that will pair up great with the weekly sale.  Chicken thighs and whole or whole cut up chickens are on sale for $.99 lb.  This alone would get me to Schnucks.  Now take an additional $1 the package.  Coupon is good for $1 off Schnucks Fresh Chicken 1lb or more.

Schnucks Trip 7-5

I think I had a pretty good week at Schnucks.  My rule of thumb is to try to save at least 50% at the grocery store.  It's a little harder to do on groceries than on Health and Beauty items.  There just aren't as many coupons for food.  Which is why I dislike the Extreme Coupon Show.  It gives people false goals and expectations to try to attain.  Start small and work your way up.  Once you score some of your first deals you will get better at it and be able to go for more.  

I do not buy 20 of anything.  A normally family will never use all of that.  Aim for what your family will use.  The only things here that I bought more than 3 of are the yogurts.  I bought 12.  

This week I spent $48.94 and saved $56.65.  

I had NO coupons for any fresh fruit or veggies.

Paid $3.71 for the chicken which we can use for 2 meals.  Usually grill it the first time then use leftovers for quesadillas or fajitas etc.

^all of my coupons came from the Sunday paper with the exception of the Wednesday WOW coupon.  Schnucks posts coupons on their Facebook page every Wednesday.

So before you think I'm the crazy dog lady with all the Benefuls, let me explain.  Coupon+sale= stock up!  These meals are usually at least $1.89.  They are on sale for $1.  I had 3 coupons for Buy 4 get 2 Free.  Which makes them come out to $.67 each.  Spoiled dog or not she does not get $2 meals.  Ever!   She is a small dog and she gets these only once in awhile.  I can split one meal into 3 meals for her.  20 cents a meal.
Pizza rolls are for the kiddos.  I don't buy too many processed frozen meals.  There is not much in our freezer for them to just pop in the microwave.  I got them some of these since they were on sale and I had a coupon. Paid $.60 each.  Now they have something in the freezer.  Maybe they'll shut up now!  (doubt it!)
The only things I didn't have coupons for was the baking soda, sugar, and minced garlic.  They were on sale.  The garlic was marked about 60% off.
Just another glimpse of how I shop.  I do not shop week to week for what we need.  I buy what's on sale with coupons and base our meals on that.  We always cook from the stock pile.  (Except hubs but he's getting better)  By cooking our meals this way we can feed our family of 4 for about $5 a meal.  Of course, there are some exceptions to this rule.
Example:  Spagetti dinner
Whole grain spagetti noodles  $.40
Spagetti sauce  $.60
Hamburger   $2.40
garlic toast from bread I baked let's guess about $.50
Veggie $.40
Comes out to about $4.30.   And we had leftovers.
We buy half a cow from a local butcher.  It comes out to about $2.40 a pound.  That means a pound of hamburger or a steak is $2.40.  Gotta love eating porterhouse steaks for $2.40 a pound.
